About me
Welcome to my new site; Sampimon Outdoor Photography. My name is Otlis Sampimon and I live in Hellendoorn in the eastern part of the Netherlands where I’am a Veterinary Manager by profession. My hobby is photographing nature close to home in my local patches Reggedal and Wierdenseveld with a preference for (intimate) landscapes and macro.
My journey
My photography journey started in 2003, when my wife urged me to find a hobby beside my regular work as a researcher in veterinary science which is also a “hobby” of mine. From my early age I could be found in the nature reserves around my hometown Hellendoorn and Nijverdal and that was for me an excellent challenge to try to capture this beauty also photographically. My photography journey started with a compact camera and has been evolved in a few years to a full frame DSLR from Canon.
passion
Besides (intimate) landscapes I have a great love for macro and close-up photography especially dragonflies and butterflies. Recently I started also to use ICM (Intensional Camera Movement) and multiple exposure to capture trees in my local patch “Het Reggedal”. This, for me new way of photography is still work in progress.
